CANTON – City and business leaders gathered Saturday night to officially dedicate the football-themed Centennial Plaza downtown.
The celebration, which began at 3:30 p.m., included food trucks, live music and fireworks, along with a ribbon cutting.
The plaza features a pavilion and 65-foot high spires along Court Avenue NW and Market Ave. N. It’s expected to serve as a catalyst for more downtown projects.
Canton broke ground in August 2019 on the $12.3 million plaza, primarily funded by city tax revenue along with a $1.5 million state grant and $2.5 million in private donations.
